This is a great day in the history of Purgatory:
What was first a simple project, made out of boredom, with bad plot, bad drawings, a bad page and -nevertheless- good jokes evolved to a simple with actually something almost like a kind of a plot, good drawings, better jokes and a kick-ass page! Ok, not kick-ass, but it doesn't burn your eyes into you brain, does it?

You will probably notice that the next amount of comics are drawn AND written by Scythe, this is because I simply had no real time to make sketches. The last week since Monday was page-designing time, as long as I wasn't in school. We had many problems, from special and afterwards stupid look-wishes till deformings of the bars and heavy path-errors. And Scythe was so damn fast with the comic drawings that my jokes wouldn't fit in >.<
Well, that doesn't really matter now, because I'll take the lead of a few sections:
The CTT, the upcoming Review section (Game reviews with drawn pics of the worst scenes) and my part of the Purgatory storyline. The rest is up to Scythe and Kibi, but don't think, that they haph taken all my phorce! Neither am I powerless, nor is Yaoi-Man dead!
MUAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Sorry for this filler, but Monday is our filler-day untill Scythe has enough time to go crazy and draw comics like a machine.

And in the morning I can see the light...
And brand news strips of Purgatory!

E~yup, that's right, folks, another change and another start from scratch, so to say (I suppose you kinda get used to it).
There are several reasons for I decided to do this - first, the older art really sucked. Due to the low-contrast pencil drawings each panel looked very blurry and the lines faded into the background, as some critisized in the Keenspace Forums, and I have to admit, they were totally right. Since I've got myself a neat new Wacom Tablett, I decided to practice a bit with it and the results were more pleasing than former art, so the future strips will all be done with this little device. Luckily it doesn't contrast my drawing style, and it makes way less effort to get better result due to various tooltips, brush types etc. I do not own in non-digital form, so even if it was expensive, I guess it was worth the money.
Second, the lack of context sucked after a while, too. It may be nice to have many unrelated strips and jokes, but something inside me always cried for something bigger, something that a reader could enjoy not only by laughing about a single stand-alone gag. Though you cannot call the new concept a story at all, it is some kind of red line heading forward, giving possibility to introduce new plots, characters and so on. While RianQ played a bigger role in the design of the former strips, these new ones are primarily based on my ideas, supported by him nevertheless, I need to say. Well, RianQ will get his own section(s), CTT will still be written by him, as well as his reviews (just wait some time, you'll know then what I mean).
After all, Purgatory is not longer a stand-alone gag strip series, it turned out to become a real webcomic series, and I hope you'll like and enjoy it as much as I enjoyed drawing these strips with new-found enthusiasm. Be patient with us regarding the restart and redesign of the page, RianQ's working on it, and in my opinion the result looks really better than the previous one. Things finally start moving. Yay.
